① FILO racking type
Push back racking is proposed to store pallet 2 to 4 deep. The loading step is like:
◆Forklift places the 1st pallet on the top big cart.
◆Next, forklift carries the 2nd pallet, and pushes the 1st pallet along with decline until the next pallet position, and places the 2nd pallet on the top medium cart.
◆The 3rd pallet is the same way as the 2nd pallet.
◆Lastly, forklift carries the 4th pallet, and pushes other 3 pallets along with decline until the innermost pallet position, and places the 4th pallet on the rack end, which is often supported by pallet support bar.
As per the loading step, push back racking is FILO(first-in last-out) racking type.
② Safe for operation
Operator and forklift don’t need to go inside of racking for pallet loading and unloading, so it’s safer for operation, and brings less damage to racking units.
③ High storage capacity
For push back racking, loading and unloading are from the same end, so it requires only one aisle for forklift operation, that saves much warehouse space, so pallet storage quantity are greatly increased accordingly. Compared with selective pallet racking, storage capacity of push back racking increases by 40%.
